Whether it’s pumpkin picking, apple orchards, corn mazes, or fall decorations, Suffolk County has plenty of farms that bring that classic fall magic. Here are four standout farms with their schedules so you can pick the right day to go.

🍁 Harbes Family Farm (Mattituck & Jamesport)

  • Mattituck: 715 Sound Ave, Mattituck, NY 11952

  • Jamesport: 1223 NY-25, Jamesport, NY 11947

• Typical Open Dates & Times:

  • Farmstand & Picking: Usually open daily during peak season (weekends and weekdays) from morning until early evening—check their website for specific hours.

  • Pumpkin & Apple Picking & Corn Maze: Peak fall, roughly mid-September through October.

• What to Expect:
  Pumpkin picking, apple orchards, corn mazes, hayrides, cider donuts, farm stands with fall goodies. The corn maze is especially fun for kids.

• Tips: Arrive early in the day during weekends (preferably mid-morning) to beat the crowds. If possible, go during a weekday for a quieter experience.

🎃 Lewin Farms (Calverton)

• Address: 812 Sound Avenue, Calverton, NY 11933 

• Hours & Open Dates:

  • Farm Stand: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on most days except Tuesdays when it’s closed. 

  • U-Pick Fields: Generally 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM; in November many fields close at 4:00 PM. 

• What’s Available: Pumpkins, apples, a wide array of vegetables and fall produce, corn maze, roasted corn & potatoes on weekends, an ATM in farm stand.

• Tips: Call ahead to confirm what produce is in stock (especially apples/pumpkins). On weekends, arrive early for the best selection and avoid rush.

👻 F & W Schmitt’s Family Farm (Melville)

• Address: 26 Pinelawn Rd, Melville, NY 11747

• Dates & Times:

  • Fall Festival runs September 20 – November 2, 2025.

  • Weekends & Holidays during that period: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Select weekdays in October (Oct 6-31): 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. 

• What’s Inside: Pumpkin picking, 7-acre corn maze, hayrides, petting zoo, mini-golf, food stands, new attractions like a pumpkin jump pad & mechanical bee races. Halloween/haunted house events on specific dates. 

• Tips: Great for families—lots of activities. Best to go early on weekends or pick a weekday to avoid crowds. Check which attractions are open on weekdays vs weekends (some are limited during off-peak days).

🍏 Wickham’s Fruit Farm (Cutchogue)

• Address: 28700 Main Rd, Cutchogue, NY 11935 

• Hours & Open Dates:

  • Retail Stand: Monday-Saturday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM; closed Sundays. 

  • Pick-Your-Own (PYO) Hours: generally 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM when fruit is in season.

• What’s Available: U-Pick strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries, apples, peaches (when in season); occasionally pumpkins. Farm stand with fresh fruit, baked goods, sometimes a cider press, scenic farm views. 

• Tips: Weekdays are much less busy. If coming during summer/fall harvest, check their PYO schedule because availability depends heavily on weather and crop readiness. Bring comfortable shoes—the grounds can be uneven.
